THE WOOD – CURLY KOA FROM HAWAII:

Hawaiian Koa, has been treasured for hundreds of years by the Hawaiians. It is the wood of native Hawaiian royalty. They have used it for anything from outrigger canoes, paddles, boxes, furniture, to recently Ukuleles. It is an excellent tone wood which produces a rich, warm sound. The supply of koa wood is getting scarce as the Hawaiians have only recently started replanting their beloved Hawaiian Koa trees. Koa is renowned for its iridescent shimmer and luscious color which ranges from tan to warm gold with brown and black accents.

This particular piece is listed as exhibition grade, the best of the best. The grain is outstanding and the iridescent shimmer called “curl” is beyond compare.

Our koa pens come in reusable protective packaging. Depending on the size that could be a clear square tube with cap or a 2-piece pen “boat” with clear cover. Both display your pen without removing them from the package.
